ISSCC Attended the Sino-British Exchange Meeting and ISO/TC268/TG2 Meeting

On May 19, 2021, the Sino-British Exchange Meeting and ISO/TC268 International Standards TG2 Meeting on the Pilot Project of International Standards for Sustainable Development of Small and Medium-sized Cities were held in Lianhua village international future community, Qujiang District, Quzhou City. Ash green, general director of Sino-British business environment project of British Embassy in China; Bernard gindroz, chairperson of ISO/TC268; Geoff Visser, British expert of Sino British pilot project and other international experts, as well as officials from SAC, CNIS, ISSCC, Zhejiang provincial administration of market supervision, Qujiang District of Quzhou City attended the meeting and delivered speeches.

The official of SAC mentioned that the pilot project of international standards for sustainable development of small and medium-sized cities was officially launched in 2020 and is now steadily advancing. The project outcomes will provide case and data support for ISO/TC268 international standards, lay a good foundation for deepening and expanding Sino-British cooperation on standardization , and for proposing of new international standards.This meeting focuses on the cooperation and promotion of the internationalization of standards, which will effectively promote the sustainable development of cities in China and Britain.

The representative of Qujiang District introduced the pilot work of international standards for urban sustainable development in Qujiang District.He emphasized that standards are norms, guides and supports.Qujiang District always adheres to the strategy of "standards promote development", and implements standardization development in the whole region, all factors and all industries.In the next step, Qujiang District will promote the high-quality pilot project of "standardized project and projected standards", deepen foreign exchanges and cooperation, actively promote the work in the field of rural future community and agricultural sustainable development, and provide "Qujiang sample" and "China plan" to promote the sustainable development of global cities.

Ash green, general director of the Sino-British legalized business environment project of the British Embassy in China, made a video speech, expressing his expectation for further cooperation and exchanges between China and Britain on urban sustainable development.Geoff Visser, the main expert of Sino-British pilot project, introduced the overall condition of the project.

Afterwards, Qujiang District of Quzhou, Guangzhou University Town, Sino Singapore Tianjin eco-city and Huangpu District of Guangzhou, as international standard pilot areas for small towns, reported on the project content and progress in turn. Experts from China and Britain exchanged views on the report content.ISSCC and CNIS officials put forward specific suggestions on the progress of the pilot project.

At the meeting of ISO/TC268/TG2 meeting, ISSCC Secretary General Ms. Shao Xinhua shared the achievements of ISSCC and our plan in the future, as well as the upcoming international sustainable development standardization conference on "green, sustainable, smart carbon neutrality"   which will be held on China Quality Conference on September 16 this year.

Tianjin eco-city, Guangzhou Development Zone, Xiaoyi of Shanxi and other international standard pilots shared their experience of carrying out the pilot program, which was highly recognized by Dr. Bernard gindroz. In the next stage, ISSCC will continue to support the pilot development of ISO/TC268 international standard in China, and guide pilots in China to initiate and develop international standards for sustainable development.
