ISO/TC268/WG1 Workshop on ISO 37111 was successfully held

From July 12 to 13, 2021, the international standard seminar of ISO 37101 phased flexible implementation guide (ISO 37111) for sustainable development of urban / town / county / block led by member cities of ISSCC was held in the form of online video conference. Experts from 10 countries including China, Russia, Italy, the United Kingdom, Iran, France, Uganda, Japan, Malaysia and Kenya attended the meeting. As a continuation of ISO / TC 268 spring meeting, experts gathered their wisdom and fully unified their understanding on important matters such as title, scope and draft framework, which laid a solid foundation for the next work of ISO 37111.

After two days of close discussion, the title of ISO 37111 was finally determined as "sustainable cities and communities - Urban District, towns, countries, and nearby houses - Guidelines for flexible approaches to phased implementation of ISO 37101". The standard will focus on the management system with maturity level 1, 2 and 3. and the management subject of urban area   /   town   /   county   /   block   with weak comprehensive resource mobilization ability.

The meeting also agreed on the draft framework of ISO 37111, and determined that the next meeting would be held in September to discuss and determine the index system applicable to urban / town / county / block.

The meeting defined the standard subject, direction, positioning, object of use and other contents. The consensus reached by experts from various countries also marks that the standard can smoothly promote the next stage of work according to the existing plan. In the future, the work will attract more urban areas, towns, counties and districts to participate, provide valuable experience of global urban areas, towns and county-level cities in realizing sustainable development, and make greater contributions to the preparation of international standards!
