ISO 37111 WG meeting successfully held

On September 7 and 9, 2021, the ISO 37111 working group (ISO/TC268 / WG1 / TG2) of the Technical Committee for sustainable urban and community development of the international organization for standardization was successfully held in the form of online meeting. The meeting attracted experts from 7 countries, focused on the index system applicable to the sustainable development of urban / town / county / block, discussed the opinion table put forward by experts one by one, and finally reached a consensus on the indicator system.

The international standard ISO 37111, led by ISSCC member city --- China-Singapore Tianjin Eco City on behalf of the Chinese National Standards Committee, will establish an indicator system of more than 80 indicators within the framework of the 17 goals (sdgs) of the United Nations 2030 agenda for sustainable development. It provides an important assessment means for urban / town / county / block to achieve sustainable development.

The meeting also decided to hold an international standardization forum with the theme of "standardization, making small and medium -sized cities and towns more sustainable" on October 19 this year. At that time, as one of the organizers, China Singapore Tianjin eco city will invite leaders of national standards committee, ISO / TC 268 chairman and national experts, SAC / TC 567 leaders and experts, leaders of China Singapore Tianjin eco city management committee, representatives of global small and medium-sized cities and other institutions and experts to participate in the forum and share their experiences.

Through the forum discussion, the global stakeholders of small and medium-sized cities (urban areas / towns / counties / blocks) will contribute practical management experience and standardization construction cases to the preparation and improvement of international standards.

In the next step, the iso37111 standard working group will continue to actively carry out opinion collection and discussion activities, pool Chinese experience and Chinese wisdom, and tell the sustainable development story of global small and medium-sized cities (urban areas / towns / counties / blocks)!
